Whack, Boom and such...

Boomwhackers® Tuned Percussion Tubes are lightweight, hollow, colour-coded, plastic tubes, tuned to musical pitches by different lengths. They are used as musical instruments in the percussion family. Boomwhackers produce musical tones when struck together, on the floor, or against nearly any surface (and NOT on another person!).

We are using the Boomwhackers to learn about rhythm, harmony, and melody. Most recently students have been creating OSTINATI to go with songs (I Love the Mountains).

They are a great addition to the traditional Orff instruments that we already have in our room, such as xylophones and metallophones.

Here is an example of how Boomwhackers can be used to play a whole song.
